This area will keep you up to date on the changes made throughout
the web site. It contains a running log of all the changes and additions
that we make and when we make them. You will always find the latest
information right here.
December
5, 2001 - Here it is, December already. I have been swamped
again over the last month with updates and I'm starting to see light
at the end of the tunnel. Our site experienced a problem with the
registry form. Apparently, Geocities changed the code to their form
without notifying anyone. I have no idea how long it hasn't been
working, but I have it fixed and it's working great now. So, if
you submitted a request to be added to the registry, and you don't
see your name, please take a moment and resubmit.
You will be added! More cars are being added to the galleries. I've
also added a link to a brand new site... a registry for 1973 SS
wagons. Check it out, it's a great site! Once again, thanks for
your patience and keep tuned for more updates.
November 8, 2001
- Wow! I know it's taken forever for the new page to arrive, but
here it is! Some of you saw a preview of it in the form of a Halloween
theme page. There will be a few more theme pages in the future,
but right now I'm happy getting this one in place. I have tons more
work to do, including a huge back log of cars to get into the galleries
and people to add to the registry. I'm sorry for any delays, but
I have been swamped and I'm working as fast as I can in the time
that I have. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to send
them to me as always!
September
18, 2001 - You will notice that I had updated the main
page with a tribute to those souls lost in the senseless acts of
violence that occured in our country on Tuesday, September 11. We
are not only saddened by the tragedy, but also by the fact that
it takes something this devistating to unite an entire nation and
nearly the entire world against hatred and violence. God Bless these
United States and God rest the souls who's lives were lost. We pray
for them, their families and friends, and we pray for hope and peace
for our nation and our world.
July 17, 2001
- Lots of stuff happening! The first ever 73-77 Chevelle BBQ was
held on July 7th at our home. Ater a slew of last minute cancelations,
3 die hard Chevelle owners braved the overcast skies and high humidity
to hang out, eat lots of food and talk Chevelles. We had a blast!
My thanks go out to Jim Rowhetter, Phil Jackson and (last but not
least!) Rick Braman... thanks for making the trip! And special thanks
to Rick for talking me into having another one next year. I should
have some pics on the site soon.
I've added a ton of updates as well. There's a slew of new cars
in the galleries, especially in the 1973 Malibu and the El Camino
sections. About a dozen new members have been added to the Registry
and in what little spare time I have, I'm creating a slightly new
look for the site. I got some new software so I'm toying around!
We hope everyone is enjoying their summer! Drop us an email with
a photo of your car at your favorite show or cruise spot!
June 13, 2001
- With summer now in full swing, I thought that the updates would
start dropping off as usual. Instead, they're increasing! I've added
a slew of new people to the Registry and some new cars to the 73
Malibu gallery, the 76 Laguna gallery and the Malibu Wagon gallery.
The Laguna suspension project is moving along and I should have
some more information to post in that section in the next few weeks.
As always, drop us an email with your questions, comments, ideas,
whatever! We're always happy to hear from our visitors.
May 15, 2001
- I've finally added a few more cars to the Galleries, specifically
the 1973 Laguna, 1973 Malibu, 1975 Malibu and the El Camino galleries.
Sorry for the delays folks. I've been working with some other die-hard
G3 Chevelle owners on a couple of other projects, trying to get
the 73-77 Chevelles a little more recognition. We hope that it works!
For more details, visit the 73-77 Chevelle forum at Chevytalk.
May 8, 2001
- As the updates keep rolling in, I find I'm having less time to
get them on the site, so please be patient and I'll get them up
as soon as I can. I've got my suspension
project back on track, so check it out for the latest info.
A few more cars have been added to the 73 Malibu and 73 Laguna galleries
and some new members have been added to the registry. The classifieds
section is going full blast with new stuff being added every week.
More updates are coming as time permits!
April 29, 2001
- We attended our first show yesterday (Saturday the 28th) at the
Varsity Diner. Awesome show with a huge turn-out. Of course, not
a G3 in site. There was, however, a very nice '76 Monte Carlo present
and it was getting a lot of attention. Our Laguna isn't up to show
standards right now, so it sat at home and we took Jacki's '70 Malibu.
This is a great show and if you live in central Michigan, you should
definitely check it out! Information is available in the Events
section.
April 19, 2001
- We have added a brand new Classifieds
Section to the site. This is much more user friendly and much
faster than the old set up. If you need a part or have some spares,
check it out, it's getting big. Some new members have been added
to the Registry and some updated photos of members cars have been
added as well. The big news is we've been in contact with the owner
of a 1977 Chevelle SE. He's sent pics and info and all of it will
be on the site soon, so watch for that! Stay tuned for more additions
and developments as spring continues to... spring!
March 16, 2001
- Wow... updates have just been pouring in the last couple of weeks.
Must be spring fever! I've added a bunch of new cars to several
of the Galleries and some folks even sent in some updated photos
of their cars that were already in the Galleries. Glad to see you
all keeping me up to date! Some new owners have joined the Registry
as well. And if you haven't been over to SPO lately, check it out.
The site has been updated and a ton of new information has been
added, including a list of parts they have available for our cars.
It's an excellent start and they promise to deliver even more in
the near future! As always, stay tuned for more updates. Feel free
to drop us a note with comments, suggestions, etc.
March 2, 2001
- Spring is coming, spring is coming! Yeah, I know. It's only March.
But we here in lower Michigan are in a warming trend at the moment
and temperatures in the mid 40s tend to induce spring fever! For
updates, a couple more people added to the Registry and some new
cars in the Galleries, specifically in the 73 Malibu and the 77
Malibu sections. Great stuff! Make sure you drop by Chevytalk and
check out the lastest topics of conversation. Also pop over to the
SPO site and check out the updates they've made. Looking good so
far!
February 28, 2001
- A few more folks have been added to the registry and some small
changes have been made on the site. As a reminder, if you are listed
in the Registry, please double check your email address to make
sure I have the most current one. If not, please send me an email
and I will update your information!
February 19, 2001
- Last Friday, I sent out a huge mass mailing to just over 500 73-77
Chevelle owners and enthusiasts, announcing plans by SPO to create
the largest G3 registry in the world. This is an ambitious undertaking,
as we well know! We have just over 300 members in our registry to
date. We would love to see that number grow. SPO plans to use their
registry as leverage with parts makers to show that there is indeed
a market for restoration parts for the 3rd generation of Chevelles.
If you did not receive a copy of my letter, or need information
on how to join the SPO G3 Registry, let me know and I will be happy
to email you the details!
February 18, 2001
- Sunday the 18th saw the passing of one of NASCAR's most famous
and beloved drivers; Dale Earnhardt. The world of racing will likely
never be the same again without the "Man in Black" on the track,
using his special brand of racing to welcome the rookies to the
big time. Though not one his biggest fans, I have always had a deep
appreciation for his skills behind the wheel. He will be sorely
missed and our hearts go out to his family and closest friends.
February 6, 2001
- February already?! Where does the time go? Hope all of you have
bought something special for your sweethearts in honor of Valentine's
Day. For updates, there are new cars in the 74 Laguna Gallery and
in the 73 Malibu Gallery. A few new members have been added to the
Registry and some other small changes have been made. This reminds
me... if you are on the Registry, please double check your email
address and make sure it is correct. If not, please send me your
current address.
January 23, 2001
- Wow! I've been so busy making updates to the page that I completely
missed updating this section. Okay, so I blew it. I'm allowed to
make the occassional mistake! The latest updates to the site include
a new Events
section that will list local auto-related happenings and a few national
events. A new Gallery has been added called Junkyard
Dogs that shows 73-77 Chevelles where we least like to see them;
in the junk yard! You'll also find a slew of new Chevelles added
to the other galleries, a few new names on the Registry and a new
musical selection has been added to the main page. On top of ALL
of that, your's truely has been selected as the new moderator of
the 73-77 Chevelle forum at Chevytalk,
so drop by and say hello. As always, more updates and changes are
in the works, so make sure you stop by and see what's new.
January 7, 2001
- Wow! It just doesn't seem possible that another year has gone
by and a new one is starting up. They say that time flies when you
are having fun... so I guess we must be having fun! 2000 saw some
great changes to the site and a huge surge of contributions, not
only with our web site, but with our hobby in general. We've seen
the re-emergence of Chevelle SPO and Rick Roberts, the increase
in support from Rick Harrington at ECParts and also the addition
of some 73-77 Chevelle parts by National Parts Depot. Even the car
mags have gotten into the act by showing a few examples in the Reader's
Rides sections and also by printing letters from 73-77 owners looking
for support. Car Craft even saw fit to showcase our website in their
magazine not once, but twice! We now have almost 300 people in the
Registry and we met our goal of 100 cars in the Gallery; in fact,
we went over the top with it during the last week of the year and
we now have 110 cars in the various Galleries! Congratulations and
our thanks go out to all of you who made this possible by offering
up photos of your Chevelles. We couldn't have done it without you.
Your support is what has made our site what it is today. Also please
note that we have been invited to join the Top 100 Muscle Car Sites
list. There is a button on the main page that you can click on to
vote for our site if you feel so inclined! We are hoping that 2001
will bring some more wonderful changes and additions to the web
site. As always, we welcome your feedback, comments, suggestions
and complaints! Just drop us a note and let us know how we are doing.
